Race For A Soldier

Subaru of Puyallup receives the National Love Promise Award

Members of the Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation met up with the amazing team at Subaru of Puyallup as they received the national Love Promise Award given to them by their national headquarters. Subaru truly went above and beyond with their support this year, and we're delighted their support is being recognized at such a national level.

We share our thanks!

To our thousands of runners and spectators, hundreds of volunteers, dozens of sponsors, and countless military members, and the people and services of Gig Harbor, we would like to thank one and all for making this year's event another huge success!

Come back soon for an extensive recap, as well as information on next year's race.

Once again, Leslie Mayne (founder of the Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation) was invited to appear on New Day Northwest by host Margaret Larson. Just in case you missed it, you can watch the segment here:

From left, Gig Harbor resident Kelsey Storset holds the hand of her son, Wade, 2, while he also holds his grandmother’s hand, Leslie Mayne, as they prepare to begin the kids’ dash. Mayne got the race off the ground four years ago as a way to combat her sadness for losing her son, Kyle, to PTSD, and to turn her grief into a way to help others.
