Each year the Kyle Farr Memorial award is presented to the unit who brings out the most soldiers to run the Race For A Soldier half marathon in Gig Harbor, Washington. Last week, Leslie Mayne presented the award to the Chaplain’s Challenge 51st ESB unit and was asked to speak to them about her son Kyle’s story and about suicide awareness.

Our blessings are countless

Among our greatest blessings is our freedom, one which we owe a great debt of gratitude to our heroes-the men and women of our Armed Forces. Contrast our comfort this Thanksgiving and the coziness of the season to the dry, dusty and dirty conditions of the Middle East. As we sit down to our tables and feast on bountiful food and drink with our loved ones...

The Power of Nature helps our Veterans dealing with PTSD

Foundation friend and US Army Veteran Joshua Brandon co-wrote a recent article featured on REI.com with nationally renowned medical researcher Dr. Frumkin regarding his personal experience with the healing power of being outdoors. They are currently working together researching the effects of nature as a medication for combat veteran mental health.

FREEDOM ISN'T FREE
Thank a Veteran today.

We hope you feel honored in the way you so richly deserve.

Leslie Mayne speaks at the Bremerton Elks Lodge

A special thanks to the Military Officers Association of America's Kitsap Chapter for hosting Leslie Mayne, Founder of the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation, for a luncheon speech on Friday October 28th at the Bremerton Elks Lodge.

Thank you runners, volunteers and sponsors!

Wow, another year and another amazing event! From record numbers to perfect weather, and a crowd we couldn't be more proud of, we can't thank everyone enough that helped to make our 6th Annual Race For A Soldier the best one yet!

The Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation has been named Bonneville Seattle’s and Seattle Seahawks Charity of the Month for August!

We are beyond humbled and are so very thankful for helping us to get the word and the mission out to the community!

Martin Park runs local marathon in 48.5 pounds of gear and raises $3,300 for the Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation!

We just can't say enough to thank Martin Park, a 24-year-old former active duty Marine (now a reservist) for going above and beyond to "create some visibility for a real national problem," for promoting our race, and for donating to the cause!

Registration opens January 1st!

Meanwhile, be sure to mark your calendar for September 24th, 2017! Whether you are an accomplished runner or this is your first run of this kind — you are in for an incredible experience for a GREAT cause! The city of Gig Harbor, Washington has welcomed us with open arms and beautiful scenery that makes this event one of a kind.
